This is the third in a series of posts that highlight classic rock songs which feature someone interesting sitting in on the recording session. For this series I post the song on one day and identify who is sitting in the following day. I hope you enjoy the concept and maybe learn some interesting music history in the process.
My selection for this post is a song called Old Times Good Times from Stephen Stills self titled first solo album released in 1970. Listen to the song and see if you can tell who was sitting in.
The answer will be posted tomorrow along with some additional background information.
Hi Mike,
Here I’m again with my answer to your question about Stephen Stills first album; in the background are Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.
Although I have the vinyl album, it’s not my first to turn at the table…i’m more for close harmony.
Thank you for your interesting music also especially about Lynyrd Skynyrd; I like it and even my daughter (26 years!) asked me some information about this music.
Gerard
Hi Gerard,
It is nice to know that I can always count on you! Once again you are correct. In my answer post tonight I also include the track with Eric so see what you think about it.
I am really happy that you and your daughter enjoyed Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were truly an amazing group and deserve to be better known today.
Thanks for continuing to read and listen to the blog!
Mike
