Here are some great Bad Company live tracks from circa 1974. There is some really good stuff here but given it’s age the video quality is not what we used to today. Regardless….I think you will enjoy this.

I don’t know about you but I could listen to Justin Hayward sing the phone book…….be sure to stay tuned for a future Yesterday and Today post featuring Justin!
Today’s Sunday Session is an homage to outlaw country music. It features four superstars from the outlaw country music genre (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson) performing as The Highwaymen. That’s a lot of talent, and even more cool, for one stage….I hope you enjoy it!
Today’s Sunday Session features one of my all time favorite performers, Jackson Browne, performing with the group that released my favorite record this year, Dawes, during the Occupy Wall Street protests. Enjoy….
You might have noticed that I’ve been listening to We Are All Where We Belong by Quiet Company. It’s a really good record about religion and realizing that you can no longer continue to pretend to believe…….I highly recommend it. Today’s Sunday Session post is a concert by Quiet Company at the release party for that record. Let’s listen……
As a bonus, here is my current favorite cut from the album, Everything Louder Than Everything Else. See what you think…..
Long, long ago
Back when the ocean was our home
We crawled out of the sea
So eager to breathe
And we looked to the sky
And to the limits of our mind
To understand why all things die
And how we came to be
Thought we knew all we need
But it’s time
To get off our knees and offer our hands up to the Earth
And it’s time
To find where we belong, see what it’s worth
And it’s time
Yeah, it’s time
Don’t lay me down
I don’t ever wanna die
I’ve had too good a time
I really like it here
But all those prophets promised me
That if I could just believe
An eternal life in peace
Are waiting for me
But when I go there will probably be no
Angels singin’, no harps ringin’
No pearly gates, nor devil’s flames
Just
Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! Nothing!
Oh, oh wouldn’t it be grand to take some comfort in
The same ancient texts that pacify my friends?
It wouldn’t change the fact that all we know is we come and we go
So it goes, so it goes, so it goes
And it’s… time
To get off our knees and offer our hands up to the Earth
And it’s time
To find where we belong, know what it’s worth
And it’s time
Yeah, it’s time!
Don’t let me go
I’m not prepared
I’m so damn scared
That I’m almost there
Don’t let me go
I’m not prepared
I’m so damn scared
That I’m almost… there (theeeere)
There (theeeeere)
There (theeeeere)
There (theeeeere)
I posted about Ashley back on June 20th (link to post). She it an amazing country singer and a great young songwriter. Tonight’s Sunday Session is from the National Public Radio (NPR) Tiny Desk concert series. Ashley performs three songs accompanied by an acoustic guitar. It’s really good stuff and I think you will enjoy it…….
Here’s a set of Linda’s favorite songs from an HBO TV special in 1980. This set makes you appreciate Linda’s incredible voice and mourn the fact that she is no longer able to sing. Enjoy…..
I was lucky enough to see Linda in concert in the early 1970 and it was an experience I will never forget.
Tonight I have a great performance by The Head and the Heart at KEXP from September of last year. I’m really looking forward to the release of their new album on Tuesday. I will post about it once I manage to get my hands on it. In the meantime, enjoy this excellent live performance…….
This Crosby, Stills & Nash’s The Acoustic Concert was taped at a 1991 show in San Francisco that was done as a memorial for Bill Graham. The boys were still in good voice……I think you will enjoy this one!
If you like CSN, you need to come back often this week. We will feature the group, collectively and individually, throughout the week.
It has been a few weeks since I have offered up a Sunday Session post. I think you will like this one from Mark Knopfler. It’s a 2005 concert from Florence, Italy and it’s excellent. Here’s the setlist:
1. Why Aye Man
2. Walk Of Life
3. What It Is
4. Sailing To Philadelphia
5. Romeo And Juliet
6. Sultan Of Swing
7. Done With Bonaparte

9. Donegan’s Gone
10. Boom, Like That
