Don’t Bother Praying – Based On What Republicans Tell Us, God Is Busy…

…Picking Women To Be Raped And Coaching Romney For The Debates

Richard Mourdock, Indiana Senate Candidate,  has clearly told us that it is God’s plan when women get raped and then get pregnant.   Let’s listen to his comments again to refresh our memory……

It is worth pointing out that Mr Mourdock’s comments clearly imply that it is must be part of God’s plan for these women to be raped given that it is his plan for them to get pregnant by rape.  I have to imagine that this creates a lot of work for God.  First he has to choose the set of women that he wants to be raped, then he has to pick the specific rapists that he wants to perform the rape to ensure that the baby that he has planned will have all of the right characteristics.  Exhausting……

We now have one of the leading right wing conservative crazies telling us that God told Mitt Romney to lose the third debate.  Listen to what Glenn had to say in his own words….

I have to say that this confuses me a little.  If God is serving as Mitt’s debate coach, as implied by Glenn, why would he have Mitt lose rather than absolutely crush President Obama.  Follow my reasoning for a minute.  One would have to assume that God would know, in advance, all of the questions that were going to be asked AND all of the answers that President Obama was going to give.  He could then give Mitt killer answers to all of the questions.  I just don’t get why he would have him lose unless……he was just too busy picking women to be raped.  If that was indeed the case, I can see the conversation going something like this.  “Hey Mitt….I’m a little busy here.  Just agree with everything that Obama says.  You will lose the debate but don’t worry, I will fix it when the votes are being counted!”

So….let me emphasize that I don’t believe or endorse any of the things discussed above.  I am only reporting on what Mr Mourdock and Glenn Beck have to say.  You have to make up your own mind about what you believe.

Having said that, there is one thing that do believe…..both of these men are…….COMPLETELY WRONG.

Day 3 Of Mitt Romney’s Support For Richard Mourdock – Completely Wrong

The last two nights we have discussed Richard Mourdock’s despicable view on rape and bipartisanship and what those views tell us about Mitt Romney.  Let’s not forget that Mitt has chosen Richard as the only Senate candidate that he has personally endorsed in an ad.  Three days after the Rape comment Mitt is still supporting Mr. Mourdock so let’s continue our discussion of him and learn some more about Richard and Mitt.

Next up, let’t talk about how Richard Mourdock supports destruction of the global climate.  Once you read the article below (from thinkprogress.com) you will discover that the only thing that Mitt and Richard hate more than women is science.  The Republican Party is clearly the party of ignorance and Mitt is right there with the dumbest of the dumb based on his support of Richard Mourdock.

*****************************

How Richard Mourdock Endangers Children

Richard Mourdock, the Mitt Romney-endorsed Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in Indiana, is standing by his comments that pregnancy after rape is “something that God intended to happen” and a “gift from God.”

While these comments are supposedly “pro-life,” his support for global climate destruction undercuts any notion that he supports policies to protect our children and future generations from serious harm.

Mourdock, who made his career as a coal and oil geologist and disastrous coal mining executive, has made repeated statements on manmade climate change that evince a total disregard for science and the risks posed by carbon pollution to all unborn children:

“I’m scared to death about each of the three candidates and their positions on global climate change,” Mourdock said. “Global caps in the last 15 years receded until last year on Mars, but what do we have in common with Mars? Last time I checked, only the sun.” Mourdock explained that humans aren’t the cause of global warming and that it’s something bigger in the universe, such as the sun. [Indiana Statesman, 4/25/08]

“Clearly, Lugar is out of touch with Hoosier conservatives if he thinks that serving on the board of groups that advocate ‘cap and trade’ carbon tax schemes and the junk science associated with global climate change alarmism is prudent when he represents a state that meets the majority of its electrical needs with coal-fired generators.” [The Hill, 4/5/12]

“We are basing our energy policy on the greatest hoax of all time, which is that mankind is changing the climate.” [American Spectator,5/9/12]

Mourdock’s rejection of scientific fact doesn’t just have theoretical implications. As Mike Oles pointed out in September, Indiana has been devastated by the carbon-fueled drought of 2012:

Rain during the last few weeks have allowed Indiana to go from being in an exceptional and extreme drought zone to merely a severe one, but the damage has been done. It was miserable this summer in the Hoosier state. Way too hot and way too dry, served up with dire warnings of “fireweather.” Nearly every major Indiana City broke or tied records for the hottest day on record and Terre Haute set at an all-time state record at 108°F. July was the hottest month on record in Indiana and June was the driest. It gets worse. The Union of Concerned Scientists have painted an even bleaker picture for Indiana over the next century if nothing is done to combat greenhouse emissions. The 2012 drought might just be the beginning.

Richard Mourdock’s campaign is financed by the coal industry.

*****************************

So what we have established so far is that Richard and Mitt are:

  • BAD FOR WOMEN
  • BAD FOR BIPARTISANSHIP
  • BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
  • BAD FOR SCIENCE

To summarize……they are just COMPLETELY WRONG!

My Counter Offer To Donald Trump……

In case you missed it, Donald Trump offered President Obama $5 million (payable to the charity of his choice) if Obama would turn over his college transcripts and passport records.  This announcement had been hyped for days and was clearly a self serving publicity stunt by Trump but I have a counter offer for him that I am announcing on this blog today.  I am very serious about this offer and will abide by the terms outlined below if Mr. Trump takes me up on it.  I am not sure if Mr Trump reads this blog so I might need some help to get this offer brought to his attention!

My Counter Offer Terms:

I ask Mr Trump to do one of two things:

  • Give Mitt Romney’s campaign 5 million dollars to get him to release ten years of tax records, or….
  • Let us see how bald you really are by post a picture of yourself without that stupid looking comb over!

If you meet either of the two conditions outlined above I will pledge to never make another political post on this blog.  I started the blog for purposes of sharing my love of music and have recently started to address political topics only because the fate of my country is in doubt based on the upcoming election.  I know my loyal readers would appreciate me getting back to music only posts and I am willing to do it if Donald meets my conditions.  He needs to recognize that if I stop posting it might help his buddy Mitt get elected so he needs to give my offer serious consideration.

Mr Trump……..this offer is only good through next Friday so don’t sit on it too long!

Colin Powell

  • REPUBLICAN

has endorsed President Obama.  Listen to his rationale in the following clip….his message is something that everyone needs to hear to counteract the crap being thrown around by the Romney campaign!

This is really good news and what do we do when we have good news around here?  We celebrate….

I don’t know if you have heard this song or not.  It was originally done by a group called Rare Earth that was on Motown Records back in the 1970s.  Here is a cover version of the song by David Ruffin, former lead singer for the Temptations.  I will see if I can find the original…..

Romney Links To The Company That Makes The Voting Machines In Ohio – Buying The Election – Completely Wrong

Posted by thebestmusicyouhaveneverheard on October 26, 2012

Here is an article from Salon.com that highlights another approach for Romney winning the election – outright vote counting fraud.  This is really scary stuff……

Romney-linked voting machine company

to count votes in Ohio

Romney-linked voting machine company to count votes in Ohio

Voting machine provider Hart Intercivic will be counting the votes in various counties in the crucial swing states of Ohio and Colorado and elsewhere throughout the country come Nov. 6 — even though it has extensive corporate ties to the Mitt Romney camp, and even though a study commissioned by the state of Ohio has labeled its voting system a “failure” when it comes to protecting the integrity of elections.

Reports of Hart Intercivic’s ties to Romney first surfaced in late September, in a blog post by Gerry Bello and Bob Fitrakis in the Free Press, an Ohio website that reported that a key investor in Hart was HIG Capital, seven of whose directors were former employees of Bain & Co., a consulting company of which Mitt Romney was once CEO. (Romney left the company in 1984 to co-found a spinoff company, Bain Capital.) HIG Capital announced its investment in Hart on July 6, 2011, just one month after Romney formally announced the launch of his presidential campaign.

Nor were those the only ties between Hart and the Romney camp. Four of the HIG directors, Tony Tamer, John Bolduc, Douglas Berman and Brian D. Schwartz, are Romney bundlers along with former Bain and HIG manager Brian Shortsleeve, and, according to Opensecrets.org, a website run by the Center for Responsive Politics, HIG Capital has contributed $338,000 to the Romney campaign this year. Moreover, according to a report in the Nation, HIG Capital is tied to the Romney family via Solamere, a private equity firm that has invested in HIG and is run by Tagg Romney, the candidate’s son.

Solamere, however, has released a statement asserting that “Neither Solamere nor its principals have any ownership in the company or in the fund that owns the company.”

A spokesman for Hart Intercivic, Peter Lichtenheld, vice-president of operations, confirmed that HIG was a major investor, but downplayed its role in Hart’s management. “HIG Capital is an investor with Hart,” Lichtenheld told Salon, “but it has nothing to do with management at Hart. We don’t want the perception that we have some political agenda. We are in the election business and integrity is paramount.”

In the event of a close election, however, the ties between the Romney family, their supporters and the voting machine company raise the specter of a potential conflict of interest and the memory of the controversy surrounding the 2004 election results in Ohio.

In that election, as I report in “Boss Rove,” Democrat John Kerry had a 4.2 percent lead in the exit polls in Ohio, which would have given him the presidency. George W. Bush won the state by more than 2 points, however, and, as a result, kept the White House. But a civil suit subsequently alleged that the Ohio results were fraudulent because the Republican secretary of state of Ohio, Ken Blackwell, contracted with SmarTech, a Tennessee-based tech firm indirectly tied to Karl Rove, to serve as the “failover” site for election results in Ohio on Election Night.

At approximately 11:14 p.m. on that night, SmarTech did, in fact, link up with servers for Ohio’s election returns. After SmarTech became part of the process, the Ohio returns were characterized by anomalies involving the tabulation of punch cards, electronic voting machines of various types, spectacularly high turnouts in pro-Bush precincts and turnouts in pro-Kerry precincts that were astoundingly low. Virtually all the irregularities favored Bush, and the vast majority of them remain unexplained.

When I questioned Rove about his relationship to SmarTech for my book, “Boss Rove,” he told me, “I have no idea who SmarTech is.”

He later added, “I am so many layers removed from that I wouldn’t even know who those guys were.”

Nevertheless, so many troubling questions about the 2004 election in Ohio remained unanswered that when Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner succeeded Ken Blackwell, she commissioned a study in 2007 called Project Everest to evaluate Hart and other voting systems in use in Ohio at the time.

Its conclusion? The Hart system performed “poorly” because unauthorized individuals could gain access to memory cards and “easily tamper” with core voting data, and Hart scored a “zero” on the 12-step baseline comparison because it “failed to meet any of the 12 basic best practices” necessary to have a secure system.

Lichtenheld said Hart has not upgraded its product since the Project Everest report but he attributed the harsh assessment of Hart’s system to the fact that the people evaluating it “were given unfettered access.” “There are many ways to compromise it given unfettered access,” he said. “They had all the time in the world and didn’t have to worry about security breaches.”

In an interview with msnbc.com, former Secretary of State Brunner said that the threat of a politically-motivated attack on the system was now “very low” because Ohio put in place a comprehensive set of procedures to protect against security breaches and “to ensure that everything works as it should.”

Whether those precautions will be enough remains to be seen. The Project Everest report asserted that the Hart system “lacks the technical protections necessary to guarantee a trustworthy election under operational conditions.” Ultimately, it concluded with words that may prove haunting come Nov. 6: “The vulnerabilities and features of the system work in concert to provide ‘numerous opportunities to manipulate election outcomes or cast doubt on legitimate election activities … virtually every ballot, vote, election result, and audit log is ‘forgeable or otherwise manipulatable by an attacker with even brief access to the voting systems.’”

Day 2 Of Mitt Romney’s Support For Richard Mourdock – Completely Wrong

Posted by thebestmusicyouhaveneverheard on October 25, 2012
Posted in: Completely Wrong, Politics, Religious Extremism. Tagged: Bipartisanship, Mitt Romney, Rape, Richard Mourdock. Leave a comment

Last night we discussed Richard Mourdock’s despicable comments about Rape, claiming rape is God’s will.  Clearly this is completely wrong, but let me assure you there is a lot more wrong with this guy!  Over the next few days we will dig a little deeper so you will know exactly who Mitt has chosen to support.  As we talk about this we need to focus not only what it says about Mr. Mourdock but more importantly on what it says about Mitt (and the Republican Leadership)!

First up, let’t talk about bipartisanship which is something that we have to have more of in Washington.  The great article below (from the washingtonpost.com) discusses Richard Mourdock’s views on bi-partisanship.

*****************************

Richard Mourdock and the GOP’s idea of bipartisanship

By Jonathan Bernstein

Richard Mourdock, fresh off of defeating Dick Lugar in the Indiana Senate primary, hit the ground running with a quote everyone is talking about this morning:

MOURDOCK: I certainly think bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view. … If we [win the House, Senate, and White House], bipartisanship means they have to come our way, and if we’re successful in getting the numbers, we’ll work towards that.

That’s the Republican nominee on MSNBC.

What I think is interesting about this is that, by most accounts, Mourdock isn’t really part of the crazy faction of Republican politics. A recent New York Times profile compares him more to Utah Senator Mike Lee than to flaky and failed 2010 nominees Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell. That is, Mourdock is part of the new normal in Republican politics, and that’s a “normal” that utterly rejects the notion that any cooperation between the parties is possible — that is, without the other party’s abject capitulation.

As I’ve argued, the problem with the Republican Party — the problem that Tom Mann and Norm Ornstein write about in their new diagnosis of dysfunction, It’s Even Worse Than It Looks — isn’t that many of today’s Republicans are extraordinarily conservative. It’s that they reject the kinds of co-operation and compromise with their opponents that a Madisonian system depends upon.

What’s depressing about Mourdock’s quote is that it’s not about conservative policy positions or philosophy. It’s all about partisan polarization almost as a primary goal in and of itself — a goal that is now commonly aspired to even by mainstream Republicans. If their most important project during the Obama era has been to make the political system more dysfunctional than ever, that project took another step forward yesterday.

*****************************

So what does this tell us about Mitt?  Mitt claims that he is going to reach across the aisle and work hand in hand with the Democrats to get things done i.e. he claims to support bipartisanship.  But when you look at Richard Mourdock’s views (as captured in the article above) I think you see Mitt’s real views (after all Mr. Mourdock is the only Senate candidate that Mitt has done a commercial for).

Bipartisanship is the last thing on Mitt’s mind and on Richard Mourdock’s mind.  In Mitt’s case this is just one more lie from a man that does not seem to have any sort of real moral compass.  Completely wrong………..again!

New Music That Doesn’t Suck #9 – The Eagle

I don’t talk much about Country Music in this blog but there is some country music that I really enjoy.  One of my favorites is Jamey Johnson.  Here is Jamey’s song that initially captured my attention a few years back…..it is a real stunner in my opinion!

Jamey put out a new album yesterday called Living For A Song: Tribute To Hank Cochran.  I haven’t bought it yet but I have heard it is great.  Our new music offering for today is a duet between Jamey and George Strait on a song called Eagle from his new album.  I really like it……let me know what you think.

It’s Time To Marshall Our Forces And Put An End To This Kind Of Bullshit

I need you to bear with me for a minute and let me tell you a story.  I guarantee this is important and worth your time!

Our buddy Mitt Romney, master of the flip flop, and recently been positioning himself as a middle of the road moderate in yet another effort to get elected. I know better than to fall for this ploy, and so do you if you have been reading my blog posts.  Today we have the perfect example that proves this strategy is all a big show and Mitt is either part of the extreme right wing of the Republican Party or is totally unprincipled.

Mitt has only recorded one ad/endorsement for a Republican candidate for Senate.  Out of all the Senate races he decided to endorse the Tea Party candidate for the Indiana Senate seat that is being competed.  That candidate’s name is Richard Mourdock and here is the ad……

Well….it just so happens that there was a debate last night that featured Mr. Mourdock and he had something interesting to say about abortion that you will want to hear.  Let’s watch the video of his comments…..

Did you hear what this crazy man just said?  Let me quote it for you, when women are raped and get pregnant “It is something that God intended to happen”.  That is his argument against abortion in the case of rape…..God intended it to happen.  Unbelieveable……

I shouldn’t be so shocked I guess…..it wasn’t that long ago that we were discussing the Republican Senate candidate in Missouri, Todd Akin who in his argument against abortions in the case of rape said that in “legitimate” rape a woman’s body has a way of protecting itself against rape. Where do these guys come from????

So middle of the road Mitt upon hearing about Mr. Mourdock’s comments obviously demanded that the ad be withdrawn…..didn’t he?????

NO HE DIDN’T…..HE STILL SUPPORTS HIM!!!

This my friend tells us everything that we need to know about the Presidential race.  As I said earlier, based on the above Mitt is either part of the most radical conservative element of the Republican Party or he is totally unprincipled and willing to sell his soul to win the presidency and capture the Senate for the Republican Party.  In either case he does not deserve our vote and for sure he will not get my vote.

Here are a couple of videos to let you know a little more about Mr. Mourdock.  As your are watching remember that this is the one Senate candidate that Mitt wanted to personally endorse.

DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!
