Paper Money, from the 1974 album of the same name, is the song that I immediately thought of when I heard that Ronnie passed away over the weekend. It was co-written by Ronnie and Sammy Hagar, the lead singer for Montrose at that time, and almost got me arrested many nights as I drove home from my late shift at the local Drive-In Theater. The driving drum beat, combined with Ronnie’s searing guitar, gave me a lead foot that had me cruising home at twice the legal speed. Good times…no traffic, not a care in the world, and an amazing rock and roll song! I will miss you Ronnie…..
